Dr. Asempa, M.D., FAAD
Dr. Oyetewa Asempa founded Align Dermatology to expand access to expert, evidence-based care for hair, scalp, and skin conditions through telemedicine.
The idea began after a conference attendee asked whether hair loss could be evaluated remotely. At the time, the answer was no, primarily because dermatologists could not obtain the magnified scalp images needed for an accurate assessment.
Dr. Asempa set out to change that. Align Dermatology uses an affordable home dermatoscope and guided imaging system to capture the detailed photographs needed for virtual evaluation. Patients receive individualized care and clear guidance when an in-person examination or procedure is necessary.
A board-certified dermatologist and nationally recognized expert, Dr. Asempa has been featured in leading medical news outlets and health publications for her expertise in hair loss, skin of color, and complex dermatologic conditions.
